It is a known fact that you are more likely to die in a fire if you do not have a smoke alarm working in your home. Something so simple can prevent a fire from spreading and can also save your life.

Our smoke detectors can be powered by the mains or by batteries. If you do have a battery-operated smoke alarm, then you must ensure that the batteries are working at all times. If you do forget to check them, then the alarm will alert you when the batteries are running low. All smoke alarms will have a test button on them. You can check the alarm is working by pressing this.

There are three types of smoke alarms:

  1. Optical – Bedrooms, Living Rooms & Hallways
  2. Ionisation – Landings
  3. Heat Alarms – Kitchens & garages

We will install your smoke alarm normally in the middle of a room away from any lighting. We would recommend that you have at least two smoke alarms fitted in your home. For business, we would recommend a lot more depending on the size of the building.

Carbon Monoxide

Another alarm that we install is our Carbon Monoxide alarms. If you live in a rented property, then these must be fitted and tested by your landlord before you move in. Carbon Monoxide is a colourless and odourless gas. Unlike smoke, you cannot see or smell it so without one of these alarms, you will not know it is there. The risk of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning will be high. Having one of these alarms fitted in your home is essential.

Please contact us if you would like to know more about either of these alarms or would like them both installed.
